Breast Augmentation is one of the most common surgeries that women want to have before they go on that Summer Vacation…

Saline Implants Offer Many Benefits. With countless scientific studies confirming the safety of saline-filled breast implants, and official approval by the Food and Drug Administration in May 2000, more women are considering saline-filled breast implants than ever before.

Saline-filled breast implants have been in use for more than 30 years.  Plastic surgeons have adopted the safest and most effective techniques for surgical placement of saline-filled implants, and found that patient satisfaction for these devices is extremely high.

One of the reasons saline filled implants are so popular is that, because they are filled with sterile saline solution after insertion, placement of the implant requires only a small, inconspicuous incision.  The incision, often less than one inch in length, may be made underneath the breast, around the lower edge of the pigmented area surrounding the nipple, or within the armpit.  Dr. Yarish will discuss these options with you and help you make a choice based on individual factors and personal preferences.  Dr. Yarish’s patient counselor spends a lot of time with each patient to educate them on the options available; the patient counselor will assist the patient with actually trying on different implants so the patient has an active role in the size they are comfortable with.

After surgery, it is often possible to return to work within just a few days or a week.  Dr. Yarish does require his patient’s to wear a sports bra for three weeks and recommends that the patients refrain from any type of exercising and heavy lifting for one month. Each year we have patients that don’t realize they need four weeks for total recovery and are disappointed that it now interferes with their vacation schedule.  Following a breast augmentation, patients often say it is easier to find clothing that fits them well, and they feel more confident about their appearance.  Studies have consistently  shown that the overwhelming majority of women who undergo breast augmentation with saline-filled implants are highly satisfied with the results and say they would make the same choice again.
